Yesterday was a special day for Georgie and ButterCup (he's lucky he remembered)...

Tuesday, July 19, 2016

I gotta say… yesterday was my Lucky Day, which is my way of saying that I was lucky I wasn’t assassinated.

You might remember that I mentioned that there was something important I needed to do, but that I didn’t remember not to forget what it was. Lucky for me, I was watching that episode of “As The Hive Turns” where Lance and Alex make up after that horrible fight they had over the burnt Honey Casserole. I was watching them smooching, when I finally remembered what I wasn’t supposed to forget: Yesterday was ButterCup’s and my Anniversary.

Oh geeeeeeeze. If I would have forgotten that, I’m sure ButterCup would have had me assassinated, probably.

Luckily, I remembered just in time to find some wax paper to make her a card, and invite her to a special Dinner Out.

I didn’t have time to check my calendar (which for some reason seems to bee missing right now), but yesterday was either the 29th Anniversary of when we first met, or the 27th Anniversary of when we beecame an Item. Beeing the cautious bee I am, I prepared for both, then we went out together and celebrated.

As everybody knows, the traditional gift for a 27th Anniversary is Sculpture, and the one for a 29th Anniversary is Tango Lessons. Fortunately, I ran across an ad in the Bee Times Gazette Journal Record for - get this - a Sculpture of two bees doing the Tango. Then in the card I gave her, I stuck in a Certificate, Good for One Tango Lesson.

When I gave her the Anniversary Gift I’d found for her, she looked at it and said, “A statue? You bought me a statue for our Anniversary? What am I supposed to do with THIS?”

“Well,” I beegan to explain, “as everybody knows, the traditional gift for this Anniversary is Tango Lessons.”

“No, it isn’t, Georgie,” she said.

“Yes it is,” I had to disagree. “So, to celebrate this Momentous Occassion, I am giving you the gift of Tango Lessons. This statue is us, my sweet ButterCup, dancing the night away in some far-away, exotic…”

“Tango lessons? Are you serious?” she said.

“Probably,” I said. “And I know we’re just gonna have the best time ever.”

“Fine,” she said.

I could tell she was delighted, mostly.

So today, I hafta go out and sign ButterCup and me up for Tango Lessons.

I hope everybody has a fantastically authentic day!

I’ll see ya’ later.
