Georgie enjoys another visit with his Editor...
Could it possibly bee Monday again? And it’s the First New Monday of the Next-to-the-Last Month of the Hot Season? This couldn’t bee better.
Actually, I take that back.
Once again, the first part of what could’ve been the kind of a Perfect Monday we all love so much was complicated by the fact I had to go see my Editor this morning. Again. (I hope he stops doing this.)
Beefore I got there, I was ready to just tell him that if he didn’t like what I said about Ties in my Weekly Feature Thingy last week, maybee he could just consider replacing Ties with Teas or Toys or Toes or something. Or just forget the Ties altogether, even if he thinks they are good for circulation, and I can spend my valuable time doing something else.
When I walked into his Office, I was ready for the worst, but he actually smiled at me (if you can call what my Editor’s face does when he isn’t mad a “smile”…it’s more of a kinda twisted-mouthpart thing he does, so most of us are glad he doesn’t do that very often…it’s kinda disturbing).
“What?!?” I felt very nervous.
“Good job, Bee,” he said. “You finally featured an actual Tie, and you’re finally beeginning to understand your Job Assignment.”
“I am? Well, that’s good to know,” I said, as he kinda came toward me with that weird smile and seemed like he was gonna put his wing around my shoulder. I backed up, since I think stuff like that from an employer is highly inappropriate. Luckily, he just clapped his wings together and went back beehind his desk.
“Now, just keep doing that for the rest of the Hot Season, and we won’t have any more problems. Right?”
“Uh…”, he interrupted me again.
“RIGHT?”
“Right,” I said. “You know that you have my complete cooperation, and that you can totally depend on me, probably,” I said. “But I was just thinking …” I continued as I started to sit down in that Big Comfortable Chair he has in front of his Desk.
“Get out of my Office,” he said.
So I did that.
I think my Editor likes to bee alone a lot. He really doesn’t enjoy having bees hanging around in his Office, ya’ know? Which is weird, beecause I think most everybody enjoys having bees around. But whatever.
So, I know this is kinda off the subject, but today, I’m gonna go digging around in the back of my closet and see if I can find my old Hallowe’en Ghost Costume I wore a few years ago. One of my BeePs reminded me over the weekend that it’s almost time for that, probably. (It seems a bit early to me, but Hallowe’en is simply too highly important to take chances with, mostly. I think that’s something that we can all agree on, right?)
I hope everybody has a blatantly favourable day!
I’ll see ya’ later!
