a-bee's-work-is-never-done

So yesterday, I was sitting there, minding my own business, when my Editor’s Secretary came over to my Boot Box to tell me that he wasn’t happy. She said that he said that I’d left the word, “preposterous” out of my Weekly Feature Thingy yesterday, and that the Print Edition of the Bee Gazette Times Journal Record…and Online News had already been delivered (so he knew I couldn’t fix that), but that he demanded that I fix the Online News version.

So I did that.

As his Secretary was leaving, she said, “Oh, by the way, he wants to see you in his Office, first thing Monday morning - or else.”

Geeeeeeeeze… is he gonna keep doing this to me for the whole rest of the Hot Season? I hope not. There’s nothing worse than having to start a perfectly good Monday in my Editor’s Office.

Anyway, ButterCup buzzed over yesterday afternoon. She was coming to get me so we could go to one of my favourite events in the Bee Games: Pollen Juggling. We were lucky enough to get tickets to that, so she thought that she and I could just enjoy a nice, quiet supper together, watch the sun go down, then go to the Games.

So we did that. It was great fun.

The team from Iraq won, with Brazil coming in a close second.

I’m astounded every time I watch those highly-trained, superbly-conditioned Pollen Jugglers take the field. They’re amazing. I keep thinking that, one of these years, I should start practising my Pollen Juggling Skills and try out for the Hive Team. Sure, I might hafta compete for Pago Pago, since our Hive Team was recently disqualified from future competition for Pre-Competition Nectarizing, but at least I’d have my chance at a trophy, which is always a good thing. After all, the Bee Games are all about Individual Excellence, not what Swarm somebody comes from, right?

And tonight, ButterCup and I have a date to go watch the Quarter-Semi-Semi-Finals for the Aerial Beenastics Competition. (Luckily, nobody has to have tickets for that, since everybody can see it from where ever they are.) I hope France wins. They’re the best at executing French Curves, ya’ know.

Okay then. I hope everybody has a miraculously fun weekend!

I’ll see ya’ on Monday!
